(1) CALCELLATION OF THIS RFP. We are canceling this RFP for the following reason: We have become aware we may need to have major repairs to one or more of our elevators. In order to contract for these repairs, we are required by pertinent HUD procurement regulations to conduct an Invitation for Bids (IFB) competitive solicitation process.
(1a) Before we embark on this path of potential major re-construction, we are going to retain, by conducting a Request for Proposals (RFP), an independent “disinterested” 3rd-party, and elevator inspection service, to inspect our elevators and deliver to us a full report as to the current status of our elevators, what improvements need to be made, and within what time-frames (NOTE: By “disinterested,” we mean that this firm will not be eligible to respond to any RFP’s for any future on-going maintenance and repair services).
(1b) We anticipate, but do not guarantee, that we will, at some point in the future, again conduct an RFP for these services.
