PLEASE NOTE: As long as you are registered for this IFB, you will continue to receive these notices. If you plan to not respond to this IFB with a bid submittal, you may want to access the eProcurement Marketplace and mark "No Bid". Once you have done such, you will not continue to receive any notices pertaining to this IFB.
We have received the following requests for information and hereby respond to each:
(1) QUESTION. The specifications only call for ice and water shield at the valleys and roof penetrations (pipes/vents). The details on sheet A104 shows the ice and water shield also at all eaves, rakes, walls and ridges. Is ice and water shield required at these areas or just at the valleys and penetrations?
AGENCY RESPONSE. Ice and Watershield Locations: Yes, provide ice and water shield on roof eaves, rakes, walls, ridges, valleys, and roof penetrations as shown on the drawings and specifications.
(2) QUESTION. Can you please approve Tri-Built ice and water shield for this project? Data sheet attached.
AGENCY RESPONSE. Yes, Tri-Built Ice & Water Barrier Granular is an acceptable underlayment for ice and water shield. NOTE: The referenced “data sheet attached” is attached hereto as “Addendum #2 - Attachment #1.”
(3) QUESTION. The General Roofing Notes call for new pre-finished aluminum drip edge to be installed. The details on sheet A104 notes “existing drip edge to remain (typical).” Do we install new drip edge on this project?
AGENCY RESPONSE. Perimeter Metal Drip Edge: The existing metal drip edge around roof perimeters is to remain. Therefore, providing a new metal drip edge around the roofs is not required.
(4) QUESTION. On 3 type C.1 buildings we are instructed to roof half of each building. Just to be clear, we are to tear off half the roof to where the units meet and tie in new shingles to the existing old shingles, correct? If this is the case, I do not feel that this would end in a quality finished product and ask that you consider roofing the entire buildings.
AGENCY RESPONSE. Half of Roof Area for (3) type C.1 buildings: Yes, remove existing roofing and provide new roofing on half of (3) type ‘C.1’ buildings as shown on the Drew Court Site/Vicinity Plan. On each of these buildings, the roof is structurally separated into (2) separate halves that are at different height elevations. Recently, SHA has already provided new roofing on one half of the roof area on these buildings. The other half of the roof area on these (3) buildings (at a different height elevation than the previous mentioned roof area) has older roofing on it and needs to be removed and replaced with new roofing as part of the scope of work in the Bidders contract sum. Therefore, the new roof shingle area on the half-area provided in the Bidders scope of work will not touch or meet the existing in-place roof shingle half-area previously provided by SHA. Both half-roof areas on each building are distinctly separated and isolated from each other.
(5) QUESTION. There is an existing building between two C type buildings on Inglewood Drive that is not shown in red. You can’t see it on the map due to trees. Was this building left out of the bid on purpose or was it meant to be included?
AGENCY RESPONSE. Additional Drew Court type ‘A’ building on Site/Vicinity Plan Sheet G000: There is (1) additional type ‘A’ building to include in the Base Bid on the Drew Court Site/Vicinity Plan. Refer to the blue building shown on the Attached #2, attached hereto, Revised Sheet G000, Revision #1 dated 01/04/2023 for the location of the additional type ‘A’ building to include in the scope of work.
The Agency is grateful for your interest in doing business with our Agency and we look forward to receiving a bid submittal from your firm.
